Peter started as a storeman with SuperCool six years ago before becoming the warehouse supervisor and then moving into a more customer-centric role looking after orders and logistics in our Ormeau facility.
Part of our close-knit sales and operations team, the busy dad of 3 enjoys the friendly and professional environment at SuperCool and loves delivering outstanding customer service every day.
How long have you worked at SuperCool, and what attracted you to this role?
I started with SuperCool in 2017 and prior to working here I was the production manager and later general sales manager for a well-known home improvement company. That role was enjoyable, but the environment became a bit toxic so when I heard about the role at SuperCool through a friend I jumped at the opportunity. The overall environment here is so positive – from the moment I walked into the pristine warehouse here in Ormeau I thought “I need to work here!”.
What's the best part of your job?
Hands down, the people. Working with the lads here just makes it so enjoyable to come to work.
What does a typical day look like?
I work closely with Jason Donaldson and we have similar roles, so we offset each other with one of us looking after the warehouse and the other out the front looking after invoicing and enquiries.
At the beginning of each month, we have a few busy days preparing our large orders for our key distribution partners. These orders often comprise a lot of small fittings and fitting kits, so attention to detail is really important. I’m always working closely with the other lads to make sure everything is picked and packed efficiently and gets out to our customers as promised.
Why do you think SuperCool stands out amongst its competitors?
Definitely the customer service. We pride ourselves on having some of the best service that you’ll find in the industry and we try and bend over backwards to make sure that we’re providing value to our customers.
And of course, everyone just loves our products – we stock the best products that just work like they’re supposed to. It seems like a simple thing, but it’s essential to offer reliable products that perform as expected and help our customers do their jobs efficiently.
What's something that is frequently misunderstood in the industry?
I’m often surprised that people don’t grasp just how easy the Burgaflex system is to use. Customers are used to competitors’ products (typically hydraulic crimping tools that give a permanent result). On the other hand, the Burgaflex system is literally a 30-second crimp and you can keep changing and reallocating fittings again and again.
What do you get up to when you're not at work?
I’ve got three kids under 10 so they keep me pretty busy! When I can find time for a bit of online gaming I’ll play against my brother and a few of the guys here at SuperCool, but generally the kids take up most of my time.
