A three year field study of compressor performance in a Gold Coast tourist bus application. This study outlines the performance, durability and coupling integrity of a Unicla UWX550 compressor retrofitted to a used AC system, and demonstrates the capabilities of Unicla UWX series compressors in bus and coach applications.

This field test examines and analyses a Unicla compressor that has been in the field since 1994 and has worked for an estimated 17,000 hours. The Unicla UP115 was fitted to a BOMAG road roller in 1994 and despite suspected faults discovered during a service, it was found that the compressor was not faulty and the issue was instead related to the clutch system.

The purpose of this field test is to examine the performance and durability of a Unicla UPF170 compressor operating in a real-life application: a Mitsubishi truck delivering frozen goods around Sydney. The major components of the compressor are still in excellent condition even after 6.5 years of service and 355,000km travelled.

This study examines the performance, durability and coupling integrity of a Unicla UWX550 compressor retrofitted to the AC system of a Queensland touring coach. The compressor was fitted in 2009 and its major components were still in excellent condition after travelling approximately 544,253km.
