The Acid and Moisture level of refrigerant gas are measured independently. Knowing the purity of Refrigerant is vital information for every service technician. The technician needs to know if the refrigerant can be (1) immediately reused, (2) needs to be cleaned-up, (3) contaminated beyond reclaiming capabilities, (4) or failed to be properly cleaned during a reclaiming process. The test result obtained by the Acid Detector Tube can be a predictor of compressor failure.
Simply insert a Detector Tube into the Checkmate body and connect inline to a cylinder or on the low side of the system. Detector Tube results take less than one minute.
The Checkmate method is the industry’s only valid field test for measuring acid and moisture levels in both the compressor oil and any refrigerant gas. The Detector Tubes have been tested for accuracy by Intertek Testing Services, an ARI approved laboratory.
